CASTLEVIEW FC U16s 1 CELTIC BOYS CLUB U16s 3

It was a lovely sunny morning at Ochil Park with Castleview holding out high hopes that they might have the strength to dispose of their famously named opponents unfortunately for the home side this was not to be.

Celtic fielded a team of both height and ability and opened the scoring after 3 mins when their centre forward Bradley had the home team in disarray by bulging the back of the Castleview net with a goal from short distance. Worse was to follow as Bradley once again done the damage pouncing like a panther to knock the ball into the back of the net for both Celtic and Bradley's second goal. Wave after wave of Celtic attack took place for the remainder of the first half with only a few breakaways for the home team. At half time the home fans must have feared the worst.

Half time Castleview 0 Celtic 2

Well I don't quite know what happened whether it was the half time team talk or there was a stimulant in the refreshments because it wasn't the same Castleview that took to the park in the second half.

Castleview began to believe that they could turn this game around and started to take the game to Celtic. A more steady hard working performance from Castleview was rewarded when McGuigan with 10 mins to play fired the ball into the back of the net with ferocious vigour. The comeback was on....Or was it.

Three mins later Celtic broke away and after a goalmouth melee Mathew fired the ball beyond the outreaching goalkeeper. Thus putting the tie beyond any late recovery that Castleview had planned

All in all it was a good match played in a great spirit. Castleview FC would like to wish Celtic all the best in the next round.
